Sultan Hakeem Takes Charge as Director of Events and Protocol at SAL

SAL Saudi Logistics Services has appointed Sultan Hakeem as Director of Events and Protocol, expanding his leadership responsibilities across corporate events, executive protocol, stakeholder engagement and communications.

Hakeem moves into the role after serving as Events and Protocol Manager and Acting Director of Corporate Communications at SAL. He brings more than 17 years of experience across corporate events, executive protocol, sponsorships and communications, with experience spanning the logistics, energy and banking sectors.

Leading Events and Protocol at SAL

In his new position, Hakeem will oversee SAL’s events calendar, protocol and stakeholder experience across the company’s national and international operations.

His remit will include SAL’s engagement with government stakeholders, partners and other audiences through events, exhibitions, conferences and corporate initiatives.

International Events and Industry Platforms

During his time at SAL, Hakeem has led the company’s participation in international industry platforms including Transport Logistic Munich, China, Singapore and SIL Barcelona.

He has also overseen SAL’s presence at the World Defense Show and Rally Dakar, while leading the company’s participation and sponsorship of the first GT race in Saudi Arabia, SAL GT.

Hakeem also supported the 2024 GACA Steering Committee Meeting in Abha, contributing to SAL’s corporate and stakeholder engagement initiatives.

Experience Across Energy and Banking

Before joining SAL, Hakeem held positions at ACWA Power, Riyad Bank and Maestro Group.

At ACWA Power, he served as Executive Manager of Events, Sponsorships and Protocol. His career at Riyad Bank included roles as Head of the External Events Unit and External Events Planning Manager.

His earlier experience includes managing the launch of Noor Energy 1 at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai, along with event, protocol and guest management for the Joy Awards and Biban Forum.

Professional Certifications

Hakeem holds a Professional Certificate in Event Management from Al Yamamah University. He also holds certifications including Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) from the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE).

Focus on SAL’s Regional and Global Presence

In his new role, Hakeem will focus on developing SAL’s events and protocol standards and strengthening the company’s presence across regional and international platforms.

The appointment comes as SAL continues to pursue its wider growth ambitions, with events, protocol and stakeholder engagement forming an important part of its corporate presence in Saudi Arabia and international markets, in line with the broader objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
