Sun NXT has appointed Rajiv Rajaram as its Head of Content. According to his LinkedIn profile, Rajaram joined the streaming platform in August 2026, bringing extensive experience across content development, original programming, digital media and entertainment. Rajaram Joins Sun NXT From SonyLIV

Rajaram joins Sun NXT after serving as Head of Content, Tamil, at SonyLIV and Sony Pictures Networks India from March 2023 to August 2025. In the role, he was responsible for Tamil content and original programming for the platform.

His move to Sun NXT adds further depth to the platform’s content leadership as streaming services continue to invest in regional programming and original formats.

Nearly Eight Years at Culture Machine Studios

Prior to SonyLIV, Rajaram spent nearly eight years with Culture Machine Studios. He served as Vice President, Content, Originals, and earlier held the position of Creative Director, South.

During his tenure, he led content development and operations for Tamil and worked on television and audio fiction series for OTT platforms.

Founded Put Chutney

Rajaram was also the founder of Tamil digital media brand Put Chutney, where he developed digital-first content and formats including South Indianised trailers.

His work in the regional digital content space also includes the development of Meme Boys, which became SonyLIV’s first Tamil original series.

Experience Across Advertising and Screenwriting

Rajaram began his career in advertising, working with organisations including Radio One, Ogilvy & Mather, Rediffusion Y&R and Moulis Advertising.

His career has also extended into screenwriting and dialogue writing. He co-wrote the screenplay and dialogues for the bilingual film Moone Moonu Varthai and wrote dialogues for Yash Raj Films’ Tamil production Aaha Kalyanam.

Extensive Voice-Over Experience

Alongside his work in content and entertainment, Rajaram has worked as a voice-over artist. He has lent his voice to more than 3,000 commercials and corporate films across radio, television and digital platforms.

Leading Content at Sun NXT

In his new role, Rajaram will lead the content function at Sun NXT. His experience spanning regional OTT programming, digital media, advertising, screenwriting and audio-visual content positions him to oversee the platform’s content strategy and development.
