Nerav Rao Steps Into Senior Creative Producer Role at Boomtown Productions

Dubai-based Boomtown Productions has appointed Nerav Rao as Senior Creative Producer, strengthening its creative and production capabilities as client demands evolve across the region.

Within his first month at Boomtown Productions, Rao directed a film for a global client in collaboration with a major international partner agency. The project involved leading a crew of nearly 30 people on location.

Alongside his directing and creative responsibilities, Rao is also developing AI-assisted systems across bidding, pre-production and post-production, with the aim of improving production workflows and efficiency.

Balancing Technology With Creative Craft

Shane Martin, CEO, Boomtown Productions, said clients are increasingly asking production companies to deliver films alongside cutdowns, vertical formats and stills, often within shorter timelines and tighter budgets.

According to Martin, Boomtown is automating administrative and process-heavy tasks while keeping creative judgement, casting, performance and the final cut with its creative teams.

He added that Rao was directing within weeks of joining the company, while the systems he is developing are helping make the wider team more efficient.

Experience Across Global Production

Rao brings more than 15 years of experience in London, where he worked across broadcast, premium branded content, sport and documentary-led storytelling for global clients and broadcasters.

He has since moved to the Gulf, focusing on telling stories from the region while bringing his international production experience to the market.

He added that AI belongs in the workflow, allowing production teams to save time and redirect that time towards craft, performance and storytelling.
