Bennett Coleman Appoints Badri Beriwal to Lead Brands and Portfolio Strategy

Badri Beriwal has joined Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (The Times of India) as Director, Brands, Products and Portfolio Strategy, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Beriwal joins Bennett Coleman from Bata India, where he served as Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer from May 2023 to July 2026. His new role at Bennett Coleman marks a move into the media industry after senior leadership positions across retail, FMCG and consumer businesses.

Beriwal Moves from Bata India

At Bata India, Beriwal was responsible for the strategic direction of retail operations and marketing for Bata and Hush Puppies in India. He also oversaw the expansion of the company’s store network to more than 2,000 locations.

His responsibilities covered both strategic planning and business development, with a focus on strengthening the brands’ retail presence in the Indian market.

More Than Five Years at Britannia Industries

Before joining Bata India, Beriwal spent more than five years at Britannia Industries.

He joined Britannia in April 2018 as Category Head and was promoted to National Sales Development Manager in July 2019.

In March 2021, he moved into the role of Vice President, New Business and CEO, BritChip, a joint venture between Britannia and Chipita.

He was subsequently elevated in January 2022 to Chief Business Officer, New Business and CEO, BritChip. He held the position until May 2023, before moving to Bata India.

Experience Across Marketing and Business Development

Earlier in his career, Beriwal held marketing leadership positions across the consumer and technology-linked business landscape.

He served as Marketing Head at Stanley Black & Decker and later took on the role of Chief Marketing Officer at Veeba.

These roles have given him experience across marketing, brand building, category management, sales development and new business initiatives.

New Mandate at Bennett Coleman

At Bennett Coleman, Beriwal will take on responsibility across brands, products and portfolio strategy. His appointment brings together his experience in brand-led businesses, retail operations, marketing and new business development.

The move also adds a consumer and portfolio strategy perspective to Bennett Coleman’s leadership team as the company continues to operate across its media and brand portfolio.
