Chapter2Drip Launches WASHED PAST, A New Campaign That Turns Emotional Baggage Into A Playful Fashion Story

Chapter2Drip, the contemporary streetwear label founded by Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty, introduces WASHED PAST, its latest collection, shot at WTF Media Studio in Mumbai. Launched in September 2026, the collection explores the idea of letting go of emotional baggage and moving forward, using the familiar act of doing laundry as a playful metaphor. The concept comes to life through washed fabrics, fades, dyes and textures, alongside a full-scale laundromat-inspired campaign world created to visually represent the process of “washing away” the experiences we carry from the past.

At the heart of WASHED PAST is the metaphor of “dirty laundry”, a playful way of looking at the emotions and experiences people often continue to carry with them. From grief and abandonment to insecurities, heartbreak and the difficulty of moving on, the collection explores the idea of washing away what has accumulated over time and making space for what comes next.

The concept comes through strongly in the collection itself, with washes, fades, dyes and textures becoming an important part of its visual identity. WASHED PAST features ombré half shirts in blue, pink and grey, washed sets in charcoal, light blue and olive, gauze sets in brown, black, sage, dusty blue, Monday blue and coral, alongside blue and white tie-dye and washed denims.

For the campaign, Chapter2Drip brought the idea to life through a full-scale laundromat recreated entirely from scratch. Designed as a real-life simulation, the set featured custom WASHED PAST branding and signage, with washing machines labelled around emotions such as grief, abandonment and insecurities. The result was a physical interpretation of the collection’s central idea, turning emotional baggage into something that could quite literally be put through a wash.

The campaign also brings together a diverse cast, reflecting the idea that carrying the past is not limited by age, identity or any particular stage of life. The campaign film and imagery capture this shared experience while keeping the tone rooted in the playful and expressive world of Chapter2Drip.

Following the campaign shoot, the laundromat was transformed into an intimate launch experience for friends of the brand, creators, influencers and the wider Chapter2Drip community. The evening saw several familiar faces in attendance, including Shalini Passi, Abhishek Malhan, Sahil Sethi, Shanya Khatwani, Mohit Khemani, Angad Bedi, Shreya Kalra and Kusha Kapila, among others. Guests were given an exclusive first look at WASHED PAST, with the evening featuring a DJ set staged within the laundromat, a stand-up performance, a dance performance and a mini fashion showcase by members of the Chapter2Drip team wearing pieces from the collection. Food and beverages rounded out the experience, while a dedicated retail display allowed guests to discover and shop the collection ahead of its wider release.

“We all carry things from our past for longer than we need to. With WASHED PAST, we wanted to translate that feeling into something as familiar as doing your laundry. The washes, colours and textures all come back to the idea of letting go and making space for what’s next,” says Rhea Chakraborty, Co-Founder, Chapter2Drip.
