Meta Names Dhruv Vohra to Lead Southeast Asia Business

Dhruv Vohra has taken on a new role leading Meta’s business across Southeast Asia. Vohra announced the appointment in a LinkedIn post, marking a new chapter in his career after more than seven years with the company. Seven Years of Leadership at Meta

Vohra joined Meta in 2019 and has held several leadership positions across the company’s business organisation. He most recently served as Managing Director, SMB Group, APAC, a role he took up in April 2023.

Before that, Vohra was Managing Director, Meta Business Group (Mid-Market), Southeast Asia, from October 2021 to April 2023. He previously served as Director, Head of Sales for Ecommerce and Digital Natives from August 2019 to September 2021.

Reflecting on his experience in the region, Vohra said Southeast Asia has undergone significant changes during his time at Meta. He noted that when he joined the company, mega sale events were becoming increasingly prominent, while the ecommerce journey has since evolved towards conversations and messaging.

“People discover, ask, compare and buy inside a chat thread, and businesses are using AI, including Meta Business Agent, to keep up with them,” Vohra said in his LinkedIn post.

Focus on Southeast Asia’s Digital Economy

Vohra also highlighted the role of small and medium businesses across APAC in shaping the region’s digital ecosystem.

According to Vohra, businesses across the region are often advancing faster than the products being developed to support them. He said this dynamic is one of the areas he looks forward to addressing in his new role.

His new mandate comes as businesses across Southeast Asia increasingly use digital platforms, messaging and artificial intelligence to engage customers and drive commerce.

Experience Across Google and Technology

Before joining Meta, Vohra spent more than eight years at Google, working across roles in India and Southeast Asia.

His positions included Industry Lead for Apps, Commerce and Entertainment, APAC; Head of Industry for Tech & Telecom, Southeast Asia; and industry-focused roles covering domestic businesses and multiple sectors in India.

Vohra has also served as an external advisor to Bain & Company and was a member of XA Network, an angel investment network comprising executives from global technology companies.

In his announcement, Vohra thanked Benjamin Joe for the opportunity and the teams across Southeast Asia. He also said he looks forward to learning from and working with businesses across the region as he takes on his new responsibilities at Meta.
