Alvarez & Marsal Names Bhalindra Singh as Managing Director in India

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has appointed Bhalindra Singh as Managing Director in India, strengthening its Business Transformation Services leadership as the global professional services firm continues expanding its advisory capabilities across the country’s industrial and manufacturing sectors.

Singh joins A&M with more than 17 years of experience across management consulting and technology, bringing deep expertise in automotive, manufacturing and large-scale transformation programmes.

Bringing Deep Industry Transformation Expertise

Before joining A&M, Singh spent more than 13 years at McKinsey & Company, where he most recently served as Associate Partner in the firm’s Advanced Industries practice.

During his tenure, he advised clients across sectors including two-wheelers, passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, tractors, material handling, construction equipment, cement, consumer electricals and industrial businesses, helping companies navigate operational and commercial transformation.

Driving Cost and Business Transformation

Singh’s experience is closely aligned with the growing demand for structural transformation across manufacturing businesses.

At McKinsey, he led a two-year cost excellence programme for an Indian two-wheeler manufacturer that delivered more than a 10% reduction in bill of materials costs. His work also covered product design, procurement, operating models and broader business transformation initiatives.

Supporting India’s Manufacturing Evolution

His appointment comes as manufacturers increasingly focus on improving competitiveness amid changing technology, evolving customer expectations, supply-chain challenges and rising cost pressures.

Rather than relying solely on incremental cost-cutting, companies are increasingly pursuing long-term transformation programmes spanning product engineering, sourcing, manufacturing processes, technology adoption and supply-chain design.

Himanshu Bajaj said Singh’s experience across automotive and cost transformation would strengthen the firm’s ability to help clients respond to shifts in technology, supply chains and cost structures.
