Google Names Nitin Gajria as MD for Southeast Asia & South Asia Frontier Markets

Google has appointed Nitin Gajria as Managing Director for Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier Markets, expanding his leadership responsibilities after more than a decade with the technology company.

Gajria announced the move in a LinkedIn post, describing it as the next chapter in his journey at Google as he takes on responsibility for one of the company’s fastest-growing regional businesses.

Expanding Leadership Across Southeast Asia

In his new role, Gajria will oversee Google’s business across Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier Markets, adding to a career that has spanned multiple regional leadership positions across Asia and Africa.

His appointment marks another step in Google’s strategy of strengthening regional leadership across high-growth markets.

More Than 12 Years at Google

Gajria has been with Google for over 12 years and most recently served as Managing Director – Partnerships, Asia Pacific, a position he held from July 2023.

Throughout his tenure, he has taken on several leadership roles across different geographies, building experience across partnerships, market development and business leadership.

Leadership Across Multiple Regions

Before his latest appointment, Gajria served as Managing Director – Sub-Saharan Africa, where he led Google’s business across the region.

He has also held the roles of Country Director for Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, as well as Head of Brand Solutions for India and Southeast Asia, giving him extensive experience managing diverse markets and regional growth initiatives.

Experience Before Google

Prior to joining Google, Gajria worked at Mead Johnson Nutrition as Regional Marketing Director – Enfa A+, Asia Pacific, where he led marketing initiatives across the region.

Earlier in his career, he spent more than eight years at Procter & Gamble, working across brand and business management roles spanning skincare, personal cleansing, fabric and home care, and healthcare categories.

A Broader Regional Mandate

Gajria’s appointment reflects an expanded leadership mandate across Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier Markets, bringing together his experience across marketing, partnerships and regional business leadership as Google continues to strengthen its presence across emerging and high-growth markets.
