Godrej Industries Elevates Pirojsha Godrej to Executive Chairperson

Pirojsha Godrej will be re-designated as Whole-Time Director and Executive Chairperson of Godrej Industries Limited (GIL) with effect from August 14, 2026, according to the company’s regulatory filing.

His term will run from August 14, 2026, to August 13, 2031.

Godrej will succeed Nadir Godrej as Chairperson and Managing Director of GIL following Nadir Godrej’s retirement. He will also take over as Chairperson of the Godrej Industries Group from August 14.

Leadership Transition at Godrej Industries

Pirojsha Godrej was appointed Chairperson-Designate of GIL and the Godrej Industries Group in April 2026. He currently serves as Chairperson of Godrej Properties, Godrej Capital and Godrej Ventures.

His elevation marks the next phase of leadership for the Godrej Industries Group as it continues to build on its growth across multiple business categories.

Strong Growth Under Pirojsha’s Leadership

Under Pirojsha’s leadership, the Godrej Industries Group has delivered strong and consistent performance, recording more than 20% compounded annual growth in both sales and net profits over the five years leading up to FY26.

The Group is a leading player in India across several categories, including residential real estate, animal feed, crude palm oil, oleochemicals, household insecticides, hair colour and air care.

As of April 2026, the Group’s publicly listed businesses had a combined market capitalisation of more than $20 billion.

Recognition Across Sustainability and Governance

The Group’s largest companies, Godrej Consumer Products and Godrej Properties, were both ranked number one globally in their respective categories on the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices in 2025.

Godrej Properties also secured the top global ranking in the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) 2025, highlighting the Group’s focus on sustainability and governance.

Building Godrej Properties and New Ventures

Before taking on leadership at the Godrej Industries Group, Pirojsha led Godrej Properties through a period of rapid growth.

Under his leadership, the company became the largest real estate developer in India by residential sales in FY21, a position it continues to hold.

He also founded Godrej Capital and Godrej Ventures, expanding his role in building new businesses within the Group.

With his appointment as Executive Chairperson, Pirojsha Godrej will now lead Godrej Industries and the wider Godrej Industries Group as the organisation enters its next phase of growth and leadership.
