Digital Dubai Introduces ‘DigiPro’ to Advance Digital Skills and Capabilities

Digital Dubai has launched “DigiPro”, an initiative aimed at developing the capabilities of information and communications technology (ICT) specialists across the Dubai Government. The initiative is designed to strengthen the readiness of government technology professionals to manage fast-moving technological changes and emerging risks while supporting the continuity and resilience of government services and operations.

Strengthening ICT Capabilities Across Dubai Government

DigiPro forms part of an integrated framework led by Digital Dubai to build and strengthen digital capabilities across the Government of Dubai.

The initiative focuses on ICT professionals responsible for designing, operating, securing and enhancing the readiness of government systems and platforms. It aims to strengthen their specialised expertise through practical knowledge, advanced tools and best practices.

The programme will also help technical teams manage evolving technology and cybersecurity risks and make more informed engineering and operational decisions, contributing to the quality, resilience and continuity of government services.

Aligned with Digital Dubai’s AI+ Initiative

DigiPro is aligned with the AI+ initiative launched by Digital Dubai, which aims to train 50,000 employees across the Government of Dubai to accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, and strengthen workforce readiness for future demands.

Together, the initiatives form part of Digital Dubai’s broader approach to harnessing AI across government operations, improving service efficiency and quality of life, and strengthening the government’s ability to navigate future digital transformation.

Interactive Webinars to Begin in September

The DigiPro initiative will begin in September 2026 with a series of interactive webinars. These sessions will bring together practical expertise, global practices, lessons learned and case studies.

The webinars are intended to help ICT teams keep pace with emerging risks, understand relevant controls and preventive measures, and apply best practices within their day-to-day responsibilities.

Focus Areas for 2026

The initiative will cover several specialised technology and resilience topics during 2026, including:

• Digital Identity and the Zero Trust model
• Third-party Risk Management
• Secure Software Development
• Business continuity and disaster recovery
• Backup management and Data Restoration

The programme targets ICT practitioners and managers working across cybersecurity, application development, IT operations, network engineering and digital resilience.

People at the Heart of Digital Transformation

H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, said developing human capabilities is a cornerstone of sustaining Dubai’s digital transformation journey.

He highlighted the need for continuous development of the knowledge, skills and practices required for government teams to use technology efficiently and responsibly as the pace of technological change accelerates.

Al Mansoori said Digital Dubai is committed to investing in people alongside technology, describing the readiness of government professionals as a foundation for the readiness and resilience of the broader digital ecosystem.

He added that DigiPro reflects Digital Dubai’s role in enabling the government’s digital transformation ecosystem by developing ICT professionals equipped to anticipate risks, respond to changing challenges and make informed technology decisions.

Collaboration with Global Technology Partners

DigiPro is being delivered in collaboration with a group of global and specialist technology partners.

The collaboration will bring practical expertise and current practices to government technology teams, supporting their ability to manage systems, data, infrastructure and technology risks more effectively.

Through DigiPro, Digital Dubai aims to build a broader base of capable ICT professionals equipped with the knowledge and tools required to keep pace with technological developments and address the challenges associated with an evolving digital government environment.
