Shilpa Sharda Joins Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios as Head of Music

Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios has appointed Shilpa Sharda as Head of Music, strengthening its leadership team as the streaming platform continues to expand its original content and entertainment offerings in India. Sharda announced her new role through a social media update.

A seasoned music industry professional, Sharda brings over 15 years of experience across artist development, music marketing, digital strategy, label partnerships, and content-led business growth. Prior to this move, she was associated with Believe India, where she most recently served as Director – Artist Services, leading initiatives focused on artist growth, distribution, marketing, and strategic partnerships.

During her tenure at Believe, Sharda played a key role in nurturing independent artists and expanding the company’s artist services business across India and South Asia. She has been recognized for her work in artist development and for building innovative growth strategies within the evolving music ecosystem.

In her new role at Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios, Sharda will oversee music strategy across the company’s Indian content slate, including original films, series, soundtracks, artist collaborations, music partnerships, and music-driven storytelling initiatives. Her appointment comes at a time when streaming platforms are increasingly leveraging music as a key driver of audience engagement and content discovery.
