Lilly Appoints Tayllit Aherdan to Lead UAE, Qatar and Kuwait Markets

Eli Lilly and Company (Lilly) has appointed Tayllit Aherdan as Vice President and General Manager for its operations across the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait. The appointment comes as Gulf nations continue to advance healthcare transformation, with growing emphasis on innovation, prevention, early intervention and access to advanced medical treatments.

Aherdan to Drive Strategy Across Three Markets

In her new role, Aherdan will oversee Lilly’s strategy across the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait, while working to strengthen the company’s contribution to the region’s evolving healthcare priorities.

She brings more than two decades of international experience in the biopharmaceutical sector, having held leadership positions across North Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Europe and other international markets.

Prior to her appointment, Aherdan served as Chief Marketing Officer for Lilly China, where she led digital transformation initiatives within the company’s commercial strategy. Earlier, as Vice President, International Oncology, she was responsible for pre-launch and launch strategies across more than 100 markets spanning Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, including China and Japan.

Focus on Healthcare Innovation and Patient Access

In her new position, Aherdan will guide Lilly’s activities across cardiometabolic health, neuroscience, oncology and immunology. Her mandate will also include strengthening collaboration with healthcare stakeholders to support patient access, scientific engagement and sustainable innovation.

Aherdan’s appointment comes as Lilly seeks to deepen its long-term engagement with the healthcare ecosystem across the Gulf.

Through its operations in the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait, the company aims to contribute to healthcare systems increasingly focused on improving patient outcomes and delivering long-term value.

With Aherdan leading the three-market portfolio, Lilly will continue to focus on advancing healthcare innovation while strengthening partnerships and supporting access to new treatments across the region.
